Mar 5 - Sri Lanka vs Australia

Let's take this from the last time Aus V SL

Melbourne Match: Australia dominated until Johnson and Siddle bowled like fools and Clarke's captaincy didn't do anything. This time round, Lee and Tait will change things around. Hopefully, but i'm sure Ponting will stop them bowling like fools when SL are 8 for

Sydney Match: Australia Still had chance, Rain ruined the game.

Brisbane Match: Brings back the question, WHERE"S MCKAY??

Sangakkara is looking aggressive atm. He's getting runs in regular intervals

It seems so from a neutral perspective . But look at this :

Ashes 2009 : England 2-1 Australia
Natwest Series : England 1-6 Australia
ICC Champions Trophy 2009 SFs : England 258 all out , Australia 259/1 (42)

Ashes 2010 : Australia 1-3 England
CB Series : Australia 6-1 England
WC QFs : ??

On the other hand , here are the most recent meetings of SL and England :

England's tour of Lanka 2007 : Sril Lanka 2-3 England
ICC CT 2009 Group stage : SL 212 all out , England 213/4 (44)
ICC World t20 2010 Sfs : SL 124/8 , England 126/2 (16)

So , clearly England don't wanna play an opposition who play their level best cricket when they play England ;)

Wow you?re so good with the statistics, only thing you forgot to mention was what happened last time when SL played in UK

Sri lanka 5-0 England was it

----------

that was a super catch of tharanga ...... if AUS can keep SL under 200 hmmmm it will be interesting

Onto the partnership that could decide the match. Great catch from Smith, saved Lee's bacon there. He hasn't looked threatening at all and has been easiest to get away.

Ponting captaincy is at his best. Using fast bowlers such as Lee and Tait is short spells is the best way to extract 100% performance from them.

Loving this :D A quality pace attack going head-to-head against arguably the strongest partnership in the modern game.

good stretegy by the Lankan although they have lost 2 early wickets but they are on the move runrate is over 5.This partnership can guide them to a heavy total

sangakkara hasn't been the highest scorer so far but he's looked the most inform batsman at the world cup to me.

he's not forcing anything, his timing has been perfect.

(will get out in the next over now)

Couldn't agree more. A big partnership from these two will set Sri Lanka up nicely. If both of them are dismissed, then Australia will fancy their chances running through their middle and lower order.

How on earth did that one hit? Someone's done something to the physics in that stadium

*Fingers crossed for Samaweera* He's in my fantasy team - hope he scores big :D Krezja, Smith + Dussey should help him.
