How the hell did MacGill get voted for, I agree with bharat, Kumble for 1 has a better average, better economy rate, better best figure for both and more wickets overall. Hes only played 33 and 3 ODI's compared to 95 tests and 261 ODI's. Stats arn't everything but considering MacGill is old, his stats won't expand much whilst Vettori, Kaneria etc are young.

I thnik kumble is better bowler ...though he dosent spin the ball like warne or murli...he gets wickets and aslo dosent give away runs...when India toured Australia.. 2003... he was the most successful spin bowler who toured to australia ...for a very very long time.....now that is something special...no one did that ...Australain tracks are not that suaitable for spin bowlers...

Tendulkar doesn't have good control over his bowling and he never seems to be confident of his own bowling though he can bowl many varieties of bowling.
So sehwag would be the best spinner.

Amongst the part timers i'd rate chris gayle up there

We're/everyone is disgussing who is best after him/Murali the two best in the world.
I'm aware of that, he was trying to say Kumble was better than MacGill because he's played more games- the only reason for that is that when Warne plays he can't

Why not?

Two spinners sometimes work. Mcgrath, lee, warne and macGill.

Just recovered after the horrific past 3 days for everyone in Mumbai , Heavy rains , cloud bursts and floods when I just bumped onto this thread !
Kumble is a better spinner by some distance . He is the 3rd best spinner in cricket at the moment . Most of Macgill`s wickets have been against England and West Indies . He was hammered by the Indian batsmen when we toured Australia in 2003 . 2-3 poor deliveries every over ! I remember , in the Adelaide test which India won, the match was on a knife edge at 170/4 when Mcgill came on and VVS Laxman smashed him for 4 fours in an over and the game was in India`s grasp . Macgill has neither the accuracy or the tempramnt of Kumble and nor can he sustain the pressure .
Kumble is way better .

I heard about that hope people are coping alright.

1 metres rainfall in a day. horrific.

The city is still coping with it. thats the Mumbai spirit . Life in Mumbai seems to get back on track quicker than most cities .

The same Kumble that averages 36 when he's not playing on doctored Indian pitches? This also includes matches vs Bangladesh and Zimbabwe

doctored? Every pitch gets doctored. Like Aus, Eng pitches. All groundsmen work on a pitch, if it wasn't to be doctored the only thing you could do would be mow it. And they do more than that.
