what a great opening spell by NZ, they took 4 wickets in the first 40 minutes of the day. I was shocked when I turned the telly on, and the wickets kept tumbling.

:D good game

nz improving for sure
Improving??

We've always had a side in the last few years that can beat anyone on their day. The only problem was that it had to be their day or we'd get slaughtered.

Now it seems John Bracewell has brought some consistency into the team and the players are a lot more confident in themselves.

The only reason NZ has been mediocre through the years is that they never had the self belief that they could beat anyone, anytime. They'd go into games hoping to win, instead of expecting to.

or it could be that south africa just aren't as good as they used to be, there batting is their only positive, there bowling attack is the worse I've seen since they re-joined international cricket, sure they beat the west indies but I think any first team or county team could whip the west indies, so until they find a bowler who can bowl 90+mph constintly and a descent bowler this is going to happen more and more often

That is true, their bowling attack is disgraceful. Past Pollock (who is not at his best) and Ntini (who hasn't been effective) there is no good bowlers. Why swap Nel for Terbrugge? Terbrugge got absolutely hammered and didn't take a single wicket I think. Nel was doing better, but he was still getting hammered.

But you can't make excuses and take things away from the Kiwi team, they are playing well and have a lot of quality players especially in the middle of the lineup.
