South Africa tour of New Zealand

South africa are capable of producing a good attack with Pollock and Ntini. I guess they are out of form. If u recall right after the world cup, in the TVS cup against india at dhaka, they bowled a very tight line in the final that was rained out.

pollock has changed tactics though, and seems to have decided to focus on restricting runs over taking wickets. He's bowling slower than he used to and hasn't taken a wicket all series.

BTW, the match today was abandoned due to rain. They will have a look at the pitch tomorrow and if playable they will play at 10:30 am NZ time. Thank god for reserve days.

well i just wanted to make a poin that he was bowling an almost perfect line and length in that tri series final on the subcontinental pitch. and they were bowling during the day also. Even Ntini bowled really well. I dunno wat happened to hime over these past few months. He didn take too many wickets in the few overs he bowled. But he sure did keep th RR down in that series. Wonder where that magic went. These were their figures that match

O M R W
Pollock 6 0 15 1 (1w)
Ntini 8 2 26 2 (2nb)

In a rain shortened game, NZ were put into bat by Smith and made 193/8 from 33 overs. South Africa require 194 from 33 overs at 5.86 rpo. The recalled Chris Harris starred for the kiwis making 55 from 55. Chris Cairns was the next highest scorer making 28.

Will be a good chase.

NZ win by 2 runs (duckworth lewis lowered the target to 177 off 29). Kallis and Boucher nearly win it for SA.

NZ take series 4-1 with 1 match left to play. This is Nnw Zealand's first every series win against South Africa and they deserve it.

kiwis have given more bad defeat to SOUTH AFRICANS than PAKISTNIS

nice blitz by Ntini. the score cuda been a lot worse had it not been for those 2 p'ships. but still another loss on the cards with NZ at 42/0 in 7 ovs

woeful from south africa the kiwis have just out-batted, out-bowled out everything, until south africa find a bowler that can bowled at 150+kph this hammering is going to continue

New Zealand have won the final ODI to take the series 5-1.

Result

South Africa: 186/9
New Zealand: 190/5 (Papps 92 not out)

New Zealand win by 5 wickets

New Zealand win again.
SA 186/9 after being 40/6. Ntini got 42! The second highest score by a number 11 in a one-day international. The highest is 43 by Shoaib Akhtar.
NZ 190/5 with Michael Papps finishing on 92* after being caught behind but not given out early in his innings.

It looks like the test series will be very interesting.
