Australia in New Zealand

Haddin can play mutiple rolls as a batsman, he can bat up the order or finish an innings. He can also rescue us. That's what a real finisher is and that is what Cameron White isn't.
and thats what shane watson isnt either

Watson is a 1-4 batsman in limited overs, nothing lower, not even 5. Although he looked quite good last night and it took a superb catch to dismiss him.

5 is the lowest I would put him, 6 and 7 usually have to do some late hitting which isn't Watson strength. Hopefully hes batting around there this series and shows that he should be batting there rather than being wasted at 7.

Well we dont want him to high in the early overs when the field is in, he is good at pushing single then working boundarys after he is played in and has about 40-50 runs.

Well if the top order do their job he shouldn't be in there until after the 15th over which is about the perfect time for him to get set and then unleash.

good point actually, 4 might be a good position and maybe give 3 to hodge and 5 the Clarke? or 3 to Clarke?

Well Hodge looks like he'll be the 5 for the WC so as I said before we have to let him get use to that spot. May as well try Clarke at 3 and see if he can be Ponting backup.

I have a feeling that Haddin might miss out on the WC in favour of the Symonds experiment...

But getting back to the NZ series, it will be very interesting to see if we can improve our form. I hope we rotate the players a bit so that Johnson gets a decent bowl and White, Watson and Voges all get at least 2 games.

A bolter for the top order could be M.Hussey especially if he fails in game 1 at #6. They would/should send him up the top to get some form back as opening/#3 is the best place to do that. It gives you time to build an innings and he won't be coming in under any pressure (unless NZ posts 300 plus to chase).

Four is a better position for Watson than for Clarke. The further Clarke is from a new ball or a slips cordon, the better.

Clarke did alright last time he opened up though and when he filled in for Ponting he got a 70 odd. Looks like he enjoys being the in the top order.

He has proformed at the top many a times before, in the VB series i think last year? he opened and had a great series :)

There is no reason for Watson to have mutiple abilities because his a genuine top order batsman who builds an innings whilst White is just a born slogger who has proven to falter in tight winning match situations thus far in his career. If you really want to go out on a limb, I'd probably rather have Watson coming into rescue the innings over White.
What I think they should be doing with Watson though is make him the premier number 4 for the bulk of his career. To me, he just looks like a natural number 4 and him batting there will only put less strain on his body and we'll be able to use him to most effect. But when Hayden & Gilchrist decide to go (presumely Hayden will probably retire in ODI's after the WC and play a few more years in Test Cricket) I wouldn't go rushing Watson up to open the batting then either. Probably push Clarke up there and get Jaques to open with him.

His bowlings alright aswell, much superior to White's. At the moment, I think his bowling is just slightly better then Stuart Clark in ODI's. It's alright if he does the Clark job and takes the few cheap wickets after being tied down by the genuine bowlers because his the allrounder.

Any news on Clark talking to the selectors BTW? Can't seem to understand why they'd choose Clark over Tait. With the Tait's pace and if he bowls it full on the stumps, I struggle to see anyone getting under him and hitting him for runs, even on small grounds in the West Indies.

Haddin is a good hitter , he like to go through arial rather than ground , we saw that in DLF Cup :) , Our opening stand is not going well :( , not also middle order :( , nothing is going in our way . Totally Out of form . :crying
