Australia in New Zealand

Any news on Clark talking to the selectors BTW? Can't seem to understand why they'd choose Clark over Tait. With the Tait's pace and if he bowls it full on the stumps, I struggle to see anyone getting under him and hitting him for runs, even on small grounds in the West Indies.
Clark is easy to hit in ODIS were as Tait bowls fast yorkers but even a ball just 1 cm off length would usually be hit because he is so fast! he bowls a lot more bad balls then Clark.

Nope nothing since that comment and I suspect we won't hear anything more given Katich did something similar and we heard nothing after his outburst.

Dont take Katich , :upray . he will make the things diffficul for us in ODI . :p

Hayden
Watson
Hodge
Clarke
Voges
Hussey
Haddin (wk)
Hogg
Lee
Bracken
Johnson/McGrath

That would be my team with Haddin and Hussey floating around the order depending on the game situation. I agree with your point Sylvester about Hodge getting settled at no.5 but i think if we're serious about winning this little series then he has to bat 3. We need momentum and that's why this series is so crucial.

Problem is if Hodge isn't settled in his no 5 position then that will carry on to the WC where he may not settle to we are out. If we wanted to win this series we would have brought Ponting and Gilly over.

Good to see Hussey leading Australia again and Michael Clarke by his side as vice

Yeah it will be good to see a change, to see how Hussey can lead the side and to see how involved Clarkey will get on the field. It is a real score for him to get this appointment. The selectors are virtually saying he is the front runner to be captain after Ponting. But in saying that, most of the guys are Pontings age or higher, so they don't really have much choice...

I saw nets being put up at Basin Reserve. I bet Aussie team would be making their way in today or definitely tomorrow evening, might pop in since its only 10 minutes walk from my place :p

Just saw on the foxsports news. Michael Clarke is out of the Chappell-Hadlee trophy.

I thought he just in doubt?

Michael Clarke is in doubt for the Chappell-Hadlee series against New Zealand with hip soreness, with fellow New South Welshman Phil Jaques drafted in as cover.

Full article here

Could work out well I guess as Watson would be at 4 and Jaques opening.

So does that make Hayden the VC? :D

We need to get Hussey back into form. His been failing as of late, which is a worry. We need to win this series or we head into the WC, number 2 in the world.

This is going to be interesting contest based on who in the australia squad that is going to face New Zealand at their home ground considering New Zealand look in such great form throughout the Commonweath ODI Series.
