Yes but as @AsadRM pointed out it makes little sense for him to travel so early if he at least wasn't in the frame for a return to test cricket.

Khushdil Shah, Hasnain, etc are also playing practice games. That doesn't mean they'll be getting a Test cap next month.

Hafeez is just there to provide practice for the Test team and get among the runs before the start of the T20 series and be played if the need be, which I'm sure isn't happening unless and until there are some major injuries to the all-rounders.

But this would be the first time you would play at the Old Trafford since then. Steve Smith scored a double hundred for Australia in the same venue last summer. He too did that in the first innings. It all gives an impression that SENA batsman loves to score at the Old Trafford.

Probably not that much is lost here when you talk about bowling infact it is a sort of bonus. I haven't watched Iftikhar bat in unlimited overs but from the T20Is series in Australia he looked identical to Shahid Afridi. So not sure how much of a difference he would've made in batting.
