With Zimbabwe being eliminated from the tri-series following their 2nd defeat to Pakistan in the tri-series, and were overall winless, they have another assignment at home, but a different format, and against tourists who visit often, Pakistan. Zimbabwe's last few ODIs were part of the World Cup Qualifier, and their last one being the infamous defeat to UAE, which, again, came with controversy, as there was no DRS available.
Speaking of them, Pakistan are to play Australia in the Tri-Series final, having only losing 1 match against their 1st match against Australia in the tri-series. But, their track results in ODI haven't been the best, having been whitewashed against New Zealand at their home, but the series before, they whitewashed Sri Lanka, at their adapted "home", UAE. This is an away series, even though its against Zimbabwe, we can still sort of see they are still a bit stiff playing away, so this could be somewhat of an advantage for Zimbabwe.
Here are the Squads:
Pakistan Squad: Sarfraz Ahmed (c, wk), Asif Ali, Hasan Ali, Mohammad Amir, Faheem Ashraf, Babar Azam, Imam-ul-Haq, Mohammad Hafeez, Junaid Khan, Shadab Khan, Usman Khan, Shoaib Malik, Mohammad Nawaz, Yasir Shah, Haris Sohail, Fakhar Zaman.
Zimbabwe Squad: Brian Chari, Tendai Chatara, Chamu Chibhabha, Elton Chigumbura, Tendai Chisoro, Tinashe Kamunhukamwe, Hamilton Masakadza (c), Wellington Masakadza, Peter Moor, (wk) Ryan Murray, Tarisai Musakanda, Blessing Muzarabani, Richard Ngarava, Liam Roche, Donald Tiripano, Malcolm Waller
What do you guys think? How will the series turn-out?
