Solanki needs a score in this series after failing miserably in Bangladesh

i tell you what, solanki seems to be a gifted player with the mind to attack so soon for no apparent reason.

i can see why eng dn't want to tinker with the batting line up but might aswell put strauss in to see how he fairs in the opener position.

heard that croft maybe called up to play in sri lanka aswell.

that's what happens when you drop Solanki and lose his weight of runs ;) :(

No it was a very depressing performance - let's hope the Rugby boys put a smile back on our face this weekend

Anderson to miss 2nd ODI

James Anderson will miss England's second one-day international against Sri Lanka after he twisted his ankle playing squash.

An ECB spokesman said: "James has been receiving ice treatment to the area and will undergo an X-ray tomorrow morning, with further assessment likely in the next 24 to 48 hours."

Anderson is likely to be replaced by James Kirtley for the day-night game at the Premadasa Stadium in Colombo this Friday. The blow followed the news that Stephen Harmison will be unavailable for the forthcoming Test series with an injured back.

Playing squash??!! .
Surely he should've been in the nets, with the rest of 'em, after Tuesday's humiliation.

Well after that shambolic display in the first match, we need to get back playing something like we're capable.

I'm pretty sure Sri Lanka couldn't have played any better, and I don't expect them to play aswell this time round.

Anderson out now is a big blow to add to Harmison being ruled out of the series. Still no call for the one and only Darren Gough. Those bloody selectors just keeping cutting their noses off to spite their faces.

Fingers crossed from a Freddie masterclass with a big-hitting contest with Blackwell between the two and more runs for Vaughnie. And win the match. That seems to be the order of the day. :D
