My Playing XI for Team India:

1: Gautam Gambhir
2: Virender Sehwag
3: MS Dhoni
4: Suresh Raina
5: Yuvraj Singh
6: Ravindra Jadeja
7: Harbhajan Singh
8: Zaheer Khan
9: Praveen Kumar
10: Ashish Nehra
11: Piyush Chawla*

* Or I might go with Yusuf Pathan at number 6 and Chawla out of the XI

That lineup is weak on the specialist batsman. Bhajji, Zaheer, Jadeja, Praveen can be irritatingly inconsistent. Same with Yusuf, who is always inconcistent. You dont need 6 bowlers in a T20 when you have Yuvraj and Raina as reliable backup options. I would go with Rohit Sharma (who has hit good form in the IPL) for Nehra and Yusuf for Jadeja or Chawla.

@ Pranav: Do you think Jadeja's batting has improved enough to correct the mistakes that he made in the last T20 World Cup? He doesnt connect well for the big hits, and at times he could score so slowly to hurt the side.

sehwags out.., now i dont think india can even reach the semis:crying:crying:crying:crying

No i don't agree they are one of the toughest competitor of this wc even without Sehwag

Although Sehwag is a great player but India seriously have the powerhouse that they will not miss him too much

Sehwag out with Injury might well be a blessing in disguise. He, very surprisingly, fails in the shorter format. Moreover Vijay is in real hot form. Not only can he hold innings but can go after the bowlers with so much ease that its ridiculous.

My XI would be:

1) M Vijay
2) G Gambhir
3) S Raina
4) Yuvi
5) Dinesh Karthik
6) MS Dhoni* (WC)
7) Yusuf Pathan
8) Harbhajan
9) Praveen
10) Zaheer - B1
11) Nehra - B2

No point giving Praveen the new ball, I don't think its gonna swing much in WI anyway. Nehra was lethal in last IPL and his return to international scene has impressed me. Moreover, we don't have much options anyway. Praveen can't bowl effective yorkers at death so Nehra seems to be the only option along with Zak.

Apart from Yuvi, all our batsmen are in good form. And playing with a winning team should rub on to Yuvi as well - i won't be surprised if he hits form very soon into the tournament. :yes

Yuvi plays purely on reputation. There is no way Dhoni is going to keep Yuvraj out of the XI.

India's bowling attack is an absolute contrast to their batting line-up. India does not stand a chance in this tournament until and unless its bowlers improve a great deal.

Zaheer has been a very good bowler in T20 (proved it in the recent IPL). Praveen Kumar and Nehra have done well in the IPL (Nehra came back to the national side because of good IPL performances). Harbhajan is in good form now with his bowling. Chawla is a weak link but as the IPL progressed, he too improved and he is a bright potential for India in the future. Jadeja is a very good containing bowler (his batting is the problem, but it could be managed). We have a decent bowling attack (not the best) that should not be taken lightly. If the opposition do, they will pay for it.
