Story The Challenge - A Battrick Story

Lost every game except one tie. Must be in a tough group, or your team is just crap :p

I wasnt asking because of the losses, I was asking because now that your in the middle of it all you would be missing the likes of Crouch and Eli

Blind Society rack up another loss!
Frontline players fail to show due to exhaustion!

The Blnd Society crashed to a 10 wicket defeat here at the NYC CG in their 5th BT20 game.
Batting first, the Blind Society were dimissed for a meagre 33. Backup-keeper Leroy Gooding top scored with 13 off 20 with one boundary. Denis Holmshaw -batting at 10- hit the only other boundary of the innings. NYC quick Ian Muller took 4/2 in 2 overs.
In reply, NYC knocked the target down in 2.4 overs. Opener Mudd hit 26 off just 11 balls, with 3 fours and a six. Skipper Nicol hit a boundary too. Medium pacer Didier Courts got the brunt of the punishment, dissapearing for 24 runs in 10 deliveries. Van niekerk bowled one over for 11.
But the story of the day was the no-show of the team's main players, such as Lewis Carey, Aaron Floors, Edward Brookes and Lewis Carey.
"When only about 7 players showed up half-an-hour before the start of the match, I was quite worried. None of them were frontline players either. After a few phone calls, I'll learnt they were all exahusted and each of them figured they wouldn't come, and someone else would take their place! You couldn't blame the poor guys though, they've played a lot of cricket in the last few days. After a bit of begging, Denis (Holmshaw), Frankie (Gomez), Bernard (Stearman) and Kenny (Mavuso) all agreed to come. Since we couldn't rustle up any bowlers, we figured we had no real shot at winning this. Conor Whittles, Leroy Gooding and Prince Themba are all squad backups, and so they made the team. Troy Owens is a young kid who hangs around with the team and participates in the net sessions, so we let him in the game. And the remaining three players -Courts, Van niekerk, and Kenny- were members of staff! The frontline players -Stearman aside- all requested to bat lower down the order as they were quite tired.
I fully expect all of them to be available come Sunday though. The game will be a tough one, and the fellas might not want to play the BT20 after that, but they won't miss it."

Friendly vs AP at AP CG

Another one horse race that the Penguins are sure to lose. With all kinds of advantage upon AP, along with the fact that they do not like to face defeat adds more excuses the to the list for the Penguins.

Expected Lineup: Hiller, Clegg, *Burger, +Pine, Fabian, Hedley, Daley, Hodges, Rogan, Roe, Allott

The fact that Davison is not playing can cause a few troubles for the Penguins. But when a loss is in the cards, who would care by how much you lose?

Wow, you two suck. :p

Come on guys, rack up some wins.

Give it time.

When I first started I lost like my first 6 or 7 games before I finally got the hang of it. :D

Now my team is doing ok in BT20. I'm 4th with a good chance of going through to the next stage :D

Plus by the end of next season I should have 2 strong+ 18yr old batters and 1 Quality/Remarkable 20yr batter

These 2 guys have been playing since season 2. They decided to start fresh, so they decided to get new teams.

I expected them to start off well. I can bet that they won't be as good as they use to be. With Battrick being more challenging, its harder to keep up with it.

Good game Zorax, I wont spoil the result

I can't read the writing Zorax. Could you try and make it a bit bigger please :)
Done. :)

Yea. Managing PFL is the main problem. The players had poor stamina to start with, and were at Fresh PFL! So a lot of my players are exhausted, which is really effecting my performances. But these are just BT20 and Friendlies. So no real worries. TFL, Morale and all will get reset next season, and there will be plenty of time to recover PFL, so all is fine.

Blind Society demolished in friendly!
Falter in first overseas match, key players sit out!

The Blind Society went down by 265 runs here at the Lavington Park against the Top Class Kids.
Batting first, the Top Class Kids ammassed a massive 351/2 against a bowling attack missing frontline bowlers Cory Camebridge and skipper Lewis Carey. Conor Whittles impressed on his debut with 1/50 with his slow left arm stuff, while Justin Elvins took 1 wicket but disappeared for 74 runs in his 10 overs. Opener Fontaine hammered 156 off 145 balls with 12 fours and 3 sixes, and the second opener James hit a century of his own off 104 balls with 8 fours and a six. Skipper Arthur Dennis whacked 28 off just 17 balls with two fours and a six against his former manager's new team, before giving the Blind Society batsmen some tips prior to the second innings.
But they didn't help as TBS were skittled away for a meagre 86 runs. Allrounder Stuart Bonner top scored with 19 off 24 balls, hitting two fours. Denis Holmshaw -captain for the game and opening the batting for the first time in his career- hit a slow 17 off 31 balls with one hit to the fence. Stearman (7), Mavuso (6) and Whittles (6 not out) each hit a boundary of their own. Medium pacer Ryan took a career best 4/21, Dangasela and Mchale took 2 wickets each. The Man of the Match award went to Fontaine.
Manager Zorax was available after the match for comment.
"The boys are exhausted, and the travelling didn't help. There were a few good performances, Whittle has been bustling with energy and itching to get a game, and bowled well. Leroy Gooding has shown a cool head in both of his innings so far, and has really wanted to get into the game. But the rest of the fellas need a nice break. We've been playing a lot worse than we should, and it is basically down to exhaustion. But the good news is that there are just 2 more games to go for the lads. They've been gaining experience from all of this, and are improving. Unfortunately, I doubt any of them will show up for tomorrow's BT20 match, but our final game is a winnable one against another recently formed team, and we'll be doing our best to win that one."
