The 1st Test is at the Gabba, so it would be intelligent selection to select MacGill again, as the Gabba is one of Warne's best grounds.

Seeing as they only really need 20 overs a match out of him, I don't think it's an issue of much conjecture. Against this WI lineup, though, who knows, he might get a stack of wickets.

For Watson this is a golden opportunity to shine. Apart from Zimbabwe and Bangladesh, there isn't a better nation he can play against and have a good match.

Also I wouldn't mind to see Gillespie and/or Kasprowicz coming back. West Indies aren't that great and with these matches they can show themselves they are getting form again (if they are at least doing good jobs in their counties). But I think MacGill will be in these Tests.

No way I would chuck Dizzy in there. He is more likely to get guys like Lara and Gayle into form. Kaspa could get in but most likely we will go with MacGill. If anyone should get a shot it is Symonds. Katich hasn't done much lately.

Here is the Bulls side for the WI game.

QUEENSLAND: Jimmy Maher (captain), Matthew Hayden, Martin Love, Shane Watson, Andrew Symonds, James Hopes, Chris Hartley, Chris Simpson, Andrew Bichel, Ryan Le Loux, Mitchell Johnson, Michael Kasprowicz.

Hopefully Le Loux plays. I want to see how good he is. This is Johnson big chance to impress given Aus still have yet to pick their 3rd backup paceman.

Last I checked, Pakistan, India and Australia were the only countries with multiple spinners of that quality.
Kaneria is the only one for Pakistan at the moment (in tests), who is the other one you are referring to? Afridi is good but not that good and Arshad Khan isn't exactly elite quality either. Saqlain hasn't played in a year and a half. Mushtaq Ahmed is the only one that comes to mind and he hasn't played for Pakistan in a long time either. Who am I missing?

On topic, I'm hoping for a couple centuries from Lara here. He is one of the greatest batsmen the world has ever seen and definitely the greatest batsman I've watched bat.

Saqlain is the one I was thinking of, I know he hasn't played for Pakistan in quite a while, but he was one of the most talented and devastating off spin bowlers at his peak, so in my mind, he will always be of that class. Mind you, Mustaq Ahmed is alright, probably has the best googlie in the world.

So few specialist batsman for Queensland. LeLoux is the leg spinner isn't he?

The windies always seem to play well against the aussies, mostly in the caribean. They did beat them by scoring 418 runs in the last innings of a test and ended their unbeaten run of odi victories. All this after australia had just won the world cup in 2003

The Windies have some class players in the batting. If they can restrict the Aussie in the batting and their batters find form they will provide a tight contest.

Almost like the Scots (who support Scotland, or whoever is playing against England) I support two teams: SA, and whoever is against Australia ... ;)

Just kidding - but in this case I hope that WI can do well. I'm not holding my breath mind you, but a contest would be nice to see. Even a drawn match or two. And it would be joy unbridled if they squeeze out a victory. This is one series I'm looking forward two, but will probably watch, hunched over with pain, through the gap between my fingers wincing and sweating like Gibbs at Bloem last weekend.

Katich scored a ton against South Australia today. If he gets dropped, i swear i will kill the selectors, because they took out boof (even thought it was a good call, because then katcih came in) earlier in the year. that would be both my favourite players

The thing is Katich scored his ton batting in the top order. But no way Katich deserves to be dropped just yet. If he keeps on failing in the middle order I then would drop him. If Hayden or Langer are dropped shortly then Katich should open.

The Kiwis have that theory too. :D They support anything Kiwi and who ever plays against Aus. I kinda of have this theory against NZ too. But thats just me, I don't know about other Aussies.

i personaly think that Katich should give no. 4 a try against the Windies, because we all know how damagiing clarke can be at no. 5, and Katich is yet to find his comfort zone in the test team, and he evidently bats higer up the order preferebly, so maybe he should get a go. any onme agree with me, or am i on my own on this one?
