Nice strike rate from Dravid :D

Ha ha. that was funny! I agree, his strike rate is too low!! He wasnt his usual self today. If Zimbabwe with their pedestrian bowlers can restrict India with their inspired stuff, just imagine how much would India be restricted to against better teams like Pakistan or Sri lanka? Still all doesnt seem well with this Indian team. Why is the middle order getting over cautious at the fall of a few wickets? Why dont they play positively?

Scared of losing to them?

May be yes! Right now, our form cant be gauged by the current Zimbabwe series. But it gives a few hints that all is not well with this side. Coupled with that, the controversy and the turbulent atmosphere within the team does not help! So yeah, I am definitely worried about our chances against Pakistan! Though, my heart says we'll beat Pakistan again in their backyard!

Its going to be a hell lot tougher and the ultimate test when your side comes to India! I acknowledge that and I am afraid how India would fare against Vaughan's Ashes heroes!

Poor batting by the Indian except, Dravid, Gambhir, Sehwag and once again Pathan scoring valuable 32 runs for his team. Great bowler and batsman! Karthik sucks! Even Pathan got better average than him. Why don't they give chance to Dhoni in test then watch what will happen.
Zimbabwe 161 & 39/4 (17.0 ov)
India 366
Zimbabwe trail by 166 runs with 6 wickets remaining.
Now India should finish this off tomorrow.

If Yuvraj cant score against Zimbabwe, he needs more time to fully cement himself in the test arena. I feel sad for Kaif. Dont know when he will get a chance to play his next test. With Sachin back. the doors are shut for Kaif with Saurav occupying his slot!

I am sure the selectors would now tilt their scale towards blooding Dhoni in the tests as well! Karthik really sucks! He took a sensational catch but couldnt score at all

Pathan is good but you can't base him on playing Zimbabwe. Pakistan and England should prove two tough tests for him though.

Pathan is our strike bowler. He needs support from the other end. When Balaji bowled that well in Pakistan, Pathan had the best support and both tied the Pakistanis into a knot! Zaheer is a pale shadow of the bowler who stormed into international cricket and who bowled toe crushing yorkers to the great Steve Waugh in that ICC Champions Trophy 2000 in Nairobi! Ashish Nehra is hopeless - wanting to play only ODI's. Most of us now know how Ajit Agarkar is! So its down to Balaji only to form a lethal bowling partnership with Pathan!

We need some more fast bowlers as a back up to these two! Get rid of Zaheer, Nehra and Agarkar!

Its a seamer conducive pitch. So an experienced guy like streak taking 6 wickets is nothing much surprising.
and yes Irfan,Balaji would be the best choice.

India win series 2-0

Man of the match: Irfan Pathan
Man of the series: Irfan Pathan

So Saurav Ganguly now becomes the first Indian captain after Ajit Wadekar to win a series for India outside the sub continent in 19 years! What John Wright couldnt do in his stint of 5 years with the Indian team, Greg Chappell has done it in a few months!

YET, the quality of the opposition and the off the field drama totally takes the sheen of this special victory! Nevertheless, well played Irfan Pathan! Whatever and however poor the opposition were, he played like a champion and has always been delivering for India with the ball and bat!

Positives for India this series:

IRFAN PATHAN, Settling down of the opening pair of Sehwag and Gambhir

Negatives for india this series:

Team unity, SAURAV GANGULY, inconsistent fielding (three catches dropped today off threee successive balls!!!!!!!)

Im totally impressed with Blignaut's knock today! and Mazikadse something like that! just comes to show if you put your heart into it there is no side in the world that will defeat you, but on this occasion it was too little too late!

YESS!!! India won but it was Zim.

Whoever it is, happy with the way we played and won! Even though we saw a Zimbabwe fightback today, we finished the game in two and a half days and thats surely satisfying!

One thing that some of the batsmen in the team need to know that is to play in a way pertaining to the quality of the opposition. Our batting, barring Sehwag, Gambhir, Pathan and Dravid wasnt good in this test match. Our fielding made up for their brilliant outstanding catches on the second day by dropping three catches off as many balls in a Zaheer over. Imagine Zaheer's frustration after the third drop? He might have even contemplated quitting cricket and taking up some other job! Blignaut hit 84 courtesy 5 dropped chances! YUCK!

Our bowling has surely been good (ok, its Zimbabwe a poor opposition but India has given more runs to Bangladesh before who years back were worser than Zimbabwe)!

We should now ideally get to the table and sort that bloody issue of Ganguly-Chappell and then look to move forward! Its now serious time to pop up champagne and celebrate, not because of a great victory but because a celebration normally revives old sweet memories of team unity which is now sadly missing from Indian cricket!
